Filmmaking, Writing and the Congress Campaign

It's been a busy week.

This last week I've been making movies, writing and campaigning for my Congress campaign.

Working on a documentary feature film right now. Have been for a couple of months. It'll take a few more months for shooting to wrap up. It's going to be a great one.

Also, our short films continue to clip along and rock the film festival circuit. Last week, I received invites to submit short films to over 50 film festivals around the world. And this month, 4 of our newest films are screening at film festivals in Los Angeles, Seattle, Cyprus and South Africa.

Writing a new book right now. Have 130 pages done. Have about 150 more to go.

And the Congress campaign. Back in March, I filed for U.S. Congress as a Democratic candidate. 10 years ago, I won the primary with over 70 percent of the vote, and received over 35 percent of the vote in the General Election with no money and no contributions. Here, 10 years later, it'll be interesting to see what happens. The primary is in August. So for the primary, I'm doing a self-funded no budget campaign. Let's see what happens.

Busy times in the middle of nowhere.

Growing Up on the Road

I remember growing up on the road
Spending summers with Mother
On her burlesque circuit

It started when I was 6
My parents got divorced
And Mother
Was forced to raise 2 kids on her own

I went to a military school
In Tennessee
My grade school years
Then travelled on the road
With Mother
In the summers

I love remembering those days

Son of a Stripper - May 2016

I am the Son of a Stripper.

My Mother was a burlesque dancer for over 20 years in the 1970's and '80's. As a child, I grew up in that environment. I got to travel with her on her burlesque circuit in grade school. I went to a military school in Tennessee during the school year, then travelled with her on the road in the summer.

It was quite a life. I learned a lot. By the time I went to high school, I'd already had lived a full life.
